The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic, family, and fraternal service order founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney in 1882. He was approved for beatification on May 27, 2020, the step just before sainthood. St. Luke Knights of Columbus Council 10240 was formed in 1992. Since then, the organization has continued to serve the needs of the parish and community.
The Order’s principles are Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. The Council supports and sponsors many of the parish activities through its Faith in Action Program, which consists of four categories. Faith programs (Seminarian Support, Spiritual Reflection Retreat, Monthly Holy Hour in union with the Respect Life Ministry, Sacramental Gifts) help us grow and build a strong parish and church. Family programs (Food for Families, Keep Christ in Christmas, Consecration to the Holy Family, Good Friday Family Promotion, Family Movie Night and Family and Knight of the Month) strengthen the family bonds to live in the domestic church. Community programs (Habitat for Humanity, Global Wheelchair Mission, Coats for Kids, Free Throw Championship, and the Leave No Neighbor Behind in union with St. Vincent De Paul, Men of Service and the Senior Adult Ministry) allow us to help and serve by addressing the needs of others. Life programs (Special Olympics, Novena for Life, Mass for People with Special Needs, Silver Rose Pilgrimage Service, and a brand-new program Aid and Support After Pregnancy – ASAP) enable Knights of Columbus to vigorously defend the dignity of each human being at every stage of life.
The Council holds two primary annual fundraiser events through its Fall Dance and Golf Tournament. Knights have a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and our Fourth-Degree members strive to be present in full ceremonial uniform for parish and public events.
In addition, the Knights of Columbus offer exclusive fraternal benefits including access to financial planning, life insurance, annuities, IRAs and long-term care and disability.
