The Mission of the Bereavement Ministry is to provide comfort, guidance and aid in a Catholic, faith-based manner during a parishioner's loss of a loved one. We organize a funeral reception while providing a caring presence and living reminder of God's love.

Being part of Bereavement is an excellent opportunity to provide fellowship, assist families during a difficult time in their lives, and help ease worries and stress of the funeral reception process. This ministry is open to lay parishioners of St. Luke who have a deep interest in serving others. All luncheons occur in the St. Luke Parish Hall and meals are prepared within the Parish Hall kitchen (excluding baked goods which can be made at home or purchased).
Volunteer opportunities include:
Decorate the Parish Hall including family and memorial tables;
Prepare and serve the meal, drinks, and desserts;
Provide hospitality during the luncheon;
All luncheons occur in the morning or early afternoon and take approximately 5-6hrs total from set-up to clean-up. However, any amount of time you can donate is appreciated.
If you do not have time to volunteer, you can also donate baked goods to the luncheon by providing your contact information to Lisa Garza or Catalina Vasquez. Additionally, monetary donations to the Bereavement Committee may be made in the Parish Office.
Join us in making a difference in the lives of others and helping them honor a loved one.
