C.A.L.M. strives to connect St. Luke’s moms in order to encourage faith and friendship among moms and their families and promote Catholic parenting through regular meetings and events. The group currently offers Bible Story Time every Monday at 9:30 a.m. Bible Story Time is for kids ages 0-5. They hear the following Sunday’s Gospel story, sing songs, do crafts, and have a group activity to help them understand as much as possible. Moms also have the chance to talk and give their own insights to the readings. The annual All Saints/All Souls Day party is the highlight of the year.
Beginning in 2018, the group plans to host Family Nights once a month on Friday evenings. Dinner, babysitting, family prayer, and planned discussions/activities for those evenings will seek to foster the domestic church our families are meant to be. Upcoming meetings will be announced in the bulletin.
During the 2017/2018 school year, CALM also has plans for a Level I Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium. Supplies and works are currently being collected and made in the hopes of interspersing Bible Story Time mornings with Atrium mornings. If you are talented in woodworking, calligraphy, painting, sculpting, sewing, shopping, babysitting, or donating money, the group would love your help with this preparation.
You can find out more about CALM on its Facebook page, Catholic and Loving Motherhood - St. Luke or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
